Indulge in the quintessential British delicacy with our Wood-Fired Yorkshire Pudding recipe. Perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully fluffy on the inside, these savoury treats are easy to make in your wood-fired oven.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
- 1 cup milk (or dairy-free milk alternative)
- 2 large eggs
- Pinch of salt
- Vegetable oil or beef drippings for greasing
Recipe
1. Preheat your wood-fired oven to around 425°F (220°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, and a pinch of salt until smooth and well combined. Let the batter rest for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
3. While the batter is resting, generously grease a muffin tin or Yorkshire pudding tray with vegetable oil or beef drippings. Place the greased tin in the preheated wood-fired oven for about 5 minutes to heat up the oil.
4. Once the oil is hot, carefully remove the tin from the oven and quickly pour the batter into each section, filling them about halfway full.
5. Return the tin to the wood-fired oven and bake the Yorkshire puddings for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
6. Once cooked, remove the Yorkshire puddings from the oven and serve immediately while still hot and crispy.
